  • 江戸時代後期を代表する画家で、江戸南画の大成者とされる谷文晁（1763-1840）が描いた肖像画。モデルの小野蘭山（1729-1810）は、江戸時代後期の本草学（博物学）の第一人者。この肖像画は、没する前年、蘭山が文晁に描かせたもの。初め右側から写生したが、蘭山の気に入らず、また左肩にある瘤は寿瘤だから画に入れてほしいとの蘭山の希望もあって、左側から描き直した。没する直前まで精力的に研究を続けていたという蘭山の面影がうかがえる優れた肖像画である。 (xsd:string)
