19세기 중후반에 기녀들이 남긴 작품집이다. 한글 필사본이며, 총 14편의 글이 실렸는데 각 글마다 제목이 있다. 책 끝에 ‘갑오 정월 이십오일 동객 필서’라 쓰여 있다. ‘동객’은 어떤 의미인지 자세하지 않으며, 갑오년은 1894년(고종 31)으로 추정되고 있다.
기녀들이 수필, 편지, 시조, 토론문 등의 형식을 빌어서 기녀의 삶과 처지를 진솔하게 들려준다.

A collection of writings authored by gisaengs in the mid to late of the 19th century. All of 14 writings in this book have their own titles. “January 25, Gab-Oh year, written by Dong-Gaek” is recorded at the end of this book. The meaning of “Dong-Gaek” has not yet been specified, and Gab-Oh year is conjectured to be 1894 (Gojong 31).
Gisaengs tell their life with candor in various formats: essay, letter, poem, argumentative writing, etc.
