Countries on the eastern sea (Haedongceguk in Korean) herein refer to countries and the Ryukyu Kingdom situated across the Japanese Archipelago. This literature describes Japan when it was divided and ruled by the emperor, the Ashikaga shogunate, and powerful family clans. Under the King Seojong’s order, Shin visited Ashikaga shogunate in 1443, and his experience became the base of this literature.\n 『Haedongcegukki』’s original copy begins with a preface and an explanatory note, followed by 7 maps (Map of Haedongguks (海東諸國總圖), Map of Japan (日本本國圖), Map of Provinces in the West of Japan (日本國西海道九州圖), Map of Ikinoshima, Japan (日本國一岐島圖), Map of Japan Tushima Island(日本國對馬島圖), and Map of the Ryukyu Kingdom(琉球國圖), etc.). Japan’s Spirit(日本國紀), the Ryukyu Kingdom’s Spirit(琉球國紀), and Record of Diplomacy and Hospitality for China (朝聘應接紀) are also included. This literature encompasses diplomatic protocols Joseon defined after its foundation, and it was used as geography reference and diplomatic protocol reference for diplomatic affairs with Japan even after the Edo Bakufu's establishment. This literature was passed over to Japan, and its several versions still exist.\n 『Haedongcegukki』 housed in the National Library of Korea has 5 chapters printed in Gab-in typeface, which differentiates itself from other reprinted copies. It contains a brief description of Japan(日本國), Tushima Island(對馬島), Ikinoshima(一岐島), and the Ryukyu Kingdom(流球國) among the countries included in the literature. This indicates that 『Haedongcegukki』 was published as a fascicle copy or an excerpted copy in any fashion as needed."@en ; dcterms:alternative "해동제국기"@ko ; dcterms:date "[成宗 7(1476)]" ; dcterms:dateSubmitted "2020-11-30"^^xsd:date ; dcterms:description "刊記: 成宗7年(1476)" ; dcterms:issued "1476" ; dcterms:source ; dcterms:title "Haedongcegukki"@en , "해동제국기"@ko , "海東諸國記" ; schema:audience "PU" ; schema:category eadlcollection:KoreaCollection , eadlcollection:NLK_Joseon_missions_to_Japan_Joseon_Tongsinsa , eadlcollection:NLK_Record_of_Envoy_Visit ; schema:datePublished "2020-11-30"^^xsd:date ; schema:image eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img3 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img8 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img11 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img5 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img2 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img13 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img7 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img1 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img10 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img4 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img15 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img12 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img9 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img6 , eadl:DM-NLKKOL000000392_DO_img14 ; owl:sameAs ; foaf:thumbnail .
