Amenomori Hoshu, from Shiga(滋賀), went to Edo at 17 and studied under the greatest sensei of that time, Kinoshita Jun'an(木下順庵). And he got a job at a school in Tsushima Island at 22 thanks to his sensei’s recommendation. From 1703 to 1705, while staying in a district for Japanese in Joseon, he learned Joseon language and took on working-level duties for diplomacy with Joseon. In 1711 and 1719, he escorted Tongshinsa as Shinmonyaku(眞文役)(reception and document manager). In 1727, he persuaded then Tsushima Island school principal and established the Institution for Joseon Language Translation, Japan’s first institution for Joseon language education, and authored multiple books for translators. \n 『Kyorinjesung』is a guide on diplomacy based on his long experience in diplomatic affairs with Joseon. There are two chapters in one volume. There are a total of 54 articles; 33 in the first chapter, and 21 in the second chapter. Most sections are dedicated to cautions required when dealing businesses with Joseon people, mainly intended to prevent misunderstandings arising out of differences in culture, perception, and tastes. This literature shows his deep understanding of and knowledge about people and society in Joseon. \n The original copy was dedicated to the Tsushima Island school principal in 1728, yet there are still many surviving transcriptions, maybe due to its widespread usage and readership. The National Library of Korea’s collection is one of those transcribed copies."@en . "2020-11-30"^^ . "2卷1冊; 26.8 x 17.2 cm" . "National Library of Korea"@en . "Kyorinjesung"@en . "1728" . . .
