One of Kitagawa Utamaro (1753-1806)’s major works that is the most acclaimed among his other Kyōka picture books. 15 illustrations are contained. One painting is spanning two facing pages on the left and the right, in which two insects and plants are arranged, along with 2 Kyōka describing his affection for insects. This collection is a testimony to Utamaro’s brilliant drawing skills and advancement in printing techniques of that time. Published by Tsutaya Jūzaburō, one of prominent publishing houses in the late Edo period.(en)

喜多川歌麿（1753-1806）の狂歌絵本のうちでも特に評価が高く、代表作とされる。全15図。見開きを一画面とし、虫2種類と植物を配し、虫を題として恋の心を詠んだ狂歌2首を掲げる。歌麿の優れたデッサン力とともに、当時の高度な印刷技術がうかがえる。江戸時代後期の著名な版元蔦屋重三郎による出版。(ja)
