Emakimono that shows Uma-jirushis of 170 military commanders across Japan. Uma-jirushi is massive flags that generals at the forefront placed next to their horses to identify quarters or shelters. Other than artificial coloring that used gold or silver glits, orange, navy, and white colors were produced by woodblock printing. The use of both ink stick printing and color printing implies that it is one of first artworks of multicolor printing that came into use in the 18th century. This collection is one of the most important color printing artwork from the early Edo period. This collection only has the complete set of 6 volumes and 6축.(en)

総計170人の戦国武将の馬印を集めた絵巻。馬印とは、先陣で大将が馬の側に立てて、居所や陣地を示すもの。彩色方法は、金銀泥などは手彩色だが、朱、藍、白などは木版印刷によっているようである。墨刷り印刷と色刷り印刷の両方が使われていることから、18世紀に始まる多色刷り印刷の源流とみられ、江戸初期の最も重要な彩色刷り資料である。6巻6軸の全巻揃いは当館所蔵本が唯一のものである。(ja)
