A sketchbook of 7 large Nishiki-e paintings that depict January event during the Edo period and 7 customs. This was created by prominent artist of bijin-ga (beautiful person picture) and Torii Kiyonaga (1752− 1815) in his prime years. The seventh scenery Akinahihashime describes the first selling of a new year in Eijudo store of ezoushiya (shop of picture books and wood prints), this collection’s publishing house. Letter of Eiju is printed on women’s obi (belt). This collection is the only surviving work housed in Japan.(en)
