Collection of Joseon’s 22th king Jeongjo(正祖, 1752-1800, Rein 1776-1800)’s handwritings as the eldest son of the Crown Prince. .
Handwritings of a Crown Prince or the eldest son of a Crown Prince before coronation are called ‘Yepil’. Considering hints of ineptness, the handwritings, mainly large letters(大字) in square style, is conjectured to be written by King Jeongjo as an 8 year-old Crown Prince in 1759. There are 10 specimens which are transcriptions of renowned phrases and Tang Dynasty poems such as 「Dongmongsunseup(童蒙先習)」 and Song scholar Zhang Sishu(張思叔)’s 「Motto(座右銘)」.(en)
조선 제22대 왕 정조(正祖, 1752-1800, 재위 1776-1800)의 예필(睿筆)을 모은 필첩이다.
예필은 임금이 되기 이전 세손 또는 세자 시절의 글씨를 의미한다. 주로 해서(楷書) 대자(大字)로 쓰여 있는 이 글씨는 아직 원숙하지 못한 필체로 보아 정조의 원손 시절인 1759년 8세 이전의 글씨로 여겨진다. 내용은 「동몽선습(童蒙先習)」이나 송나라 장사숙(張思叔)의 「좌우명(座右銘)」 등 명구(名句)와 당시(唐詩) 등을 옮긴 것으로 총 10건이다.
