Abstract

  • Old print edition. This is the first printed edition of『The Tale of Genji』, and the earliest book in hiragana movable print types. Other surviving complete sets lack several volumes, while this collection has the whole volumes except for manuscripts of several pages in Firefly, Typhoon, and White Tree, and the entire pages of Gourd Flower. This collection of beautiful books survived to this day in good condition.(en)

    古活字版。『源氏物語』の最初の刊本とされ、平仮名活字を使用した本としても最も初期のものといわれる。他に知られる伝本は、欠本があるのに対し、本書は「夕顔」全冊と「蛍」「野分」「柏木」に補写があるものの全冊揃いで、保存の良い美本である。(ja)
